After weeks on unending furor, Laikipia Woman Representative Cate Waruguru has come out to defend herself against allegations of husband snatching.
Earlier in May, the outspoken lawmaker caused a stir online after a woman known as Zipporah Njoki claimed that she snatched her husband identified as Peter Waweru.
Waruguru has dismissed the claims saying that Waweru approached her for a relationship and she couldn’t help but say yes.
“I am not husband snatcher. Mimi Hukatiwa sikatiangi (I am chased, I don’t chase). So please ask your men why they chase after me,” she said in an interview with Tuko.
Waruguru added that Waweru is her childhood friend. She went further to take a swipe at Njoki telling her to re-examine herself.
“The truth of the matter is Peter Waweru is not new to me. He is my childhood friend. Alinikatia na nikakubali. He is my man. Mali safi,” Waruguru said.
“These women who are complaining should do their homework well on their men and check around if there are areas of improvement that probably they need to work on if they need to keep them,” she added.
Waruguru in the last couple of weeks has been making headlines after it came out that she violently kicked out Njoki from a house in Mombasa.
However, the MP also dismissed the reports saying she was not the one at the Mombasa house and promised to take action against those fueling the rumors.
Waweru, days ago, also rubbished claims accusing Waruguru of attacking Njoki.
Waweru faulted a female politician from the Mt Kenya region for the drama.
He said the female politician tried to force a love affair with him but, he said, he denied the advances and told her he is married to Waruguru.
Waruguru during the same interview stated that there are plans behind the camera to unite President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto.
“I don’t think there is this problem that exists between President Uhuru and his deputy that they cannot take a cup of tea and discuss it and iron it out,” she said.
“Some works are going on behind cameras. People should wait for more surprises. There is a truce that is likely to happen between President Uhuru and his Deputy Ruto,” she added.
