SC Otiende Amollo has responded to nominated senator Milicent Omanga’s tweet about Otiende’s submission where the lawyer refuted the claims before the seven judge bench that President Uhuru Kenyatta initiated the Building Bridges Initiative.
Taking to social media, the nominated senator claimed that SC submission that the president is not the promoter of BBI is unbelievable.
“SC Otiende Amollo submits that the president is not the promoter of BBI. And he says this without blinking an eye, and expects us to believe him,” she tweeted.
Otiende Amollo who is appearing for ODM party leader Raila Odinga in the constitutional Amendment case at the Court of Appeal later responded.
“Not You Hon, Hi inawenyewe…” Otiende responded.
According to Otiende Amollo’s submission, the promoters of the initiative were Suna East MP Junet Mohammed and his BBI secretariat co-chair Dennis Waweru.
“The promoters were Waweru and Junet but the court insists that it was the President Uhuru Kenyatta,” he submitted.

He said that the president only supported the initiative.
While adding, the SC said that the IEBC authorized Junet and Waweru to collect signatures from Kenyans.
“The IEBC accepted the Junet and Waweru initiative and were authorized to collect signatures from Kenyans. They collected the signatures and submitted them to IEBC which did a letter to the counties and confirmed to them who the promoters of the BBI are,” he asserted.
“Without a doubt the promoters of the initiative are the two gentlemen that I have mentioned above,” he added.
Otiende Amollo’s submission is getting the reactions from different Kenyans on social media.
Millicent Omanga’s reaction towards Otiende’s submission is also receiving responses from different twitter users.
One of the twitter users by the name Phil Munda responded by asking Omanga to understand simple legal issues.
“Fake Mama Miradi please understand simple legal issues, the promoters of BBI were Junet and Waweru, this is a fact that no one can change,” he tweeted.
