NTV has suspended the producer and director of ‘NTV Mix show’ after an unknown man was caught on live camera indecently exposed himself.
In the night show conducted via zoom, the camera “accidentally” captured a man j*&ing off on his sofa set.
The show is conducted on Fridays from 10pm until late night.
However, according to NTV in its official statement, the immoral act had been reported to broadcast regulator, Uganda Communications Commission (UCC).
NTV also noted that they have appealed to UCC for assistance in identifying and prosecuting the person involved.
“On Friday 25th June 2021, during the live broadcast of NTV Mix Show, one of the audience members appeared to have indecently exposed himself,” NTV stated.
“We regret this very unfortunate incident and have reported the matter to Uganda Communications Commission (UCC). We have also appealed to UCC for assistance in identifying and prosecuting the individual involved,” NTV said.
While continuing with the statement, NTV also brought to the public attention that they have suspended the director and producer of the show while the rest of the staff have been reminded to be mindful of such mishap from the audience.
“In addition, we have suspended the director and producer of the show and an inquiry into the matter is underway. All our studio technical staff, producers and presenters of the show have always been reminded to be mindful of such mischievous audience members,” NTV said in a statement.
They are appealing to their audience to act with decency, respect and decorum when they interact with the platform.
“NTV is a law-abiding corporate entity, and we reiterate our fidelity to the Minimum Broadcasting Standards, as well as our own Nation Media Group Editorial Policy Guidelines. We are also family oriented and appeal to our audiences to act with tendency, respect and decorum when they interact with our platforms,” NTV stated.
“We sincerely apologize to our esteemed viewers and other stakeholders for this unfortunate event.”
