President Uhuru Kenyatta indefinitely cancelled his Ukambani region trip where he was set to launch various projects.
The first trip was to take place between Monday, June 28 and Tuesday, June 29. The second trip was to be on Tuesday, 6 July and Wednesday, July 7.
According to sources inside State House Uhuru was disappointed with the wrangles that emerged between some of the Ukambani leaders.
The wrangles between Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka, Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua, Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu and Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana made the Head of State to postponed his tour to the region.
For the two days, Uhuru was to visit Kitui County, Makueni County and Machakos county.
However, the trip was thwarted because some of the Wiper politicians wanted the development tour centered around Kalonzo Musyoka while the three governors also wanted the credit.
Emerging details also shows that the four leaders have been having talks after the postponement of the tour. Details also show that the president have been receiving details from Kalonzo Musyoka to set a new date for the visit.
An official statement from the State House indicated that the President met some Ukambani leaders.
The leaders that President Uhuru met include; Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka, Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua, Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu, Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo, Machakos Senator Agnes Kavindu, Kitui Senator Enoch Wambua, Machakos Deputy Governor Franci Mality and Makueni Deputy Governor Adelina Mwau.
President Uhuru who is set to visit the region for one day, Friday, July 9, will launch various development projects.
