One Kenya Alliance (OKA) is an alliance bringing together Musalia Mudavadi (ANC), Kalonzo Musyoka (Wiper), Moses Wetangula (Ford Kenya) and Gideon Moi (KANU). If this alliance survives up to the next general elections, then it will be its first time to be in ballot.
Currently as political parties are lining up for the next general elections, there are a lot of things that transpire in the political scenes.
I have always maintained on this platform that if President Uhuru Kenyatta is to endorse anyone as his successor, then it is Gideon Moi. That is because the late former president Daniel Moi, Gideon’s father played a crucial role in Uhuru’s presidency and now Uhuru will have to return the favor. President Uhuru’s dalliance with Baringo senator comes amidst difference with his Deputy, William Ruto, the man he promised to support for a ten year term.
One Kenya Alliance was formed to stop Its principles from joining William Ruto’s camp. Ruto’s political rivals have been working hard to stop him. Currently Ruto is a front runner since he is the only one who have publicly declared his bid.
Another reason why OKA might have been formed is to build Gideon Moi.
Gideon Moi is not politicaly strong. He has no name for himself. Rift Valley votes where he hails from, have been locked by William Ruto.
However, the political climate has been harsh to OKA.
One of the challenges that OKA is facing is Gideon’s loyalty. Sources have been indicating that Gideon has been having meetings with ODM leader Raila Odinga, who have been characterized by some of OKA principals as a betrayer.

The presence of Gideon Moi in this moribund alliance is a very important factor. The presence of Gideon is a harbinger that Uhuru will support OKA.
Uhuru’s endorsement is very important since state machineries will be supporting the alliance.
Gideon is financially stable and can fund OKA’s activities.
Another challenge is how the alliance will line up. It is now not clear if there will be referendum in Kenya. if the Building Bridges Initiative process will be stopped by the court, then the equation will be complicated.
According to the Star newspaper, William Ruto and Moses Wetangula have been having some talks a head of 2022.
One thing that is clear from the political messages being sent is that the future of OKA is not clear, we might well say is in doubt.
