Amani National Congress leader Musalia Mudavadi on Saturday visited Nyeri as a way of tightening his bid ahead of the next general elections.
Mudavadi had a consultation meeting with Nyeri county Governor Mutahi Kahiga.
During the visit, Musalia said that he is having discussions with a number of governors from the region as the country prepares for 2022.
“I am having discussions with a number of governors from this region, in fact I recently met governor Kimemia of Nyandarua, once we agree we will announce our coalition which will shake the country and unite all regions for our peaceful coexistence as a country,” Mudavadi asserted.
Speaking about the moribund National Super Alliance in which he was a member during the last elections, Musalia admitted that lack of trust is sending NASA to political oblivion.
“It’s true NASA died a slow death a long time ago, many have been asking why Kalonzo Musyoka is asking questions. He is doing so on behalf of all of us but it’s very true NASA died due to lack of trust,” he said.
ANC leader also said that high taxation has led to poor economical state.
“The reason why Kenyans are complaining of a poor economical state is due to the fact that everything is taxed heavily, this has led to high prices of commodities including animal feeds. That is why an egg from Uganda is cheaper,” he explained.
On his part, the host governor said that they welcome anyone who will address the problems of the region.
Musalia Mudavadi who was accompanied by other leaders including Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja is expected to visit other regions in Mt Kenya region.
