The Orange Democratic Movement and Wiper have finally part ways after a long period of working together in NASA. The two parties have had a history of working together during the 2013 and 2017 general elections.
Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has strongly maintained that he won’t deputize anybody in the coming general elections.
Speaking at a press conference on Monday, Kalozo said that ODM leader Raila Amollo Odinga through a letter to NASA principals has agreed to share political parties’ funds.
“We have had a very useful consultation culminating in our decision to exit NASA and enter a new formidable coalition. One Kenya Alliance. In making this decision, we have no hard feeling,” Kalonzo stated.
“This party has decided we are not deputizing anybody,” he added.
However, former Vice President welcomed any party that is willing to work with them to One Kenya Alliance, ODM included.
“I want to use this platform to welcome ODM for the purpose of national salvation of Kenya. I am basically extending a hand of friendship to everyone, including ODM,” he said.
The adamant Kalonzo added that Wiper is going to form the next government.
“This party has decided we are not going to second guess, we are going straight to form the next government,” Kalonzo stated.
While continuing he also noted that the party’s think tank has decided they are going to start the formal process of exiting NASA to join One Kenya Alliance.
It is said that the latest Kalonzo’s moves are as a result of pressure from his community who are pushing him to go for the top seat and succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta.
He has also been in supremacy battle with some of the Ukambani leaders.
