Controversies rocks in the strange case involving judges Chitembwe and Muchelule as the DCI have claimed that the officers found $57,000 that is worth Ksh6.1 in the chambers of the two aforementioned judges who were apprehended last week.
The DCI through Chief Inspector Felix Banzi delivered QN affidavit at the court indicating that the DCI officers recovered $50,000 from a lady whose identity hasn’t been disclosed in the chamber of judge Muchelule.
The affidavit also reiterated that $7,000 were recovered from Judge Chitembwe raising a lot of controversies in relation to an inventoried filed by lawyer Danstan Omari who claimed that the DCI officers found nothing from the chambers of two judges.
However, the court issued an order on Friday last week to bar the police from arresting the two judges pending hearing and determination of their case.
The high court’s statement has been jointly overturned by the DCI as they refuted claims of arresting the two judges, citing that they were requested to record a statement at the DCI headquarters while accompanied by the police.
