A man surrendered to police in Kuresoi, Nakuru county, after he allegedly killed his wife and a man he found with her in his matrimonial bed.
Peter Cheruiyot hired a boda boda to take him to Keringet police station on Saturday evening to report he had killed his wife Agnes Kirinyet, 32, and Christopher Korir, 40, after he found them in his bed.
He reportedly slit Korir’s throat, while Kirinyet had a deep cut wound in the head and hand, police said. Police said they found Korir’s body on the bed while that of the woman was on the floor.
The scene indicated a scuffle had ensued, police who visited it said.
Cheruiyot was arrested and was expected in court yesterday for a miscellaneous application to be detained as investigators work on the case.
The bodies of the two were taken to the local mortuary for preservation pending an autopsy. Police said they had not recovered the killer weapon and efforts to trace it were ongoing.
Police advised feuding partners not to take the law into their own hands and instead seek alternative mechanisms of solving their issues.
Nakuru police boss Beatrice Kiraguri said an investigation into the incident was ongoing. She said police would talk to witnesses if any.
