The Deputy President William Ruto was yesterday stranded for close to five and a half hours before being blocked from flying to Uganda for a private visit.
While facing the unheard of humiliation, he was in the company of Kapseret Mp Oscar Sudi and Kiharu mp Ndindi Nyoro, who claim that the Dp was redirected to seek clearance albeit from Head of Public service and Secretary to cabinet, something hardly ever witnessed in nine years.
Speaking from Uganda, Kiharu Mp Ndindi Nyoro expressed his disbelief at the audacity of the government to deny a free citizen let alone the sitting Deputy president free passage to a neighbouring country at this era without any solid reason.
In his statement, Mr Nyoro regretted the direction the country is headed into, citing that anyone including the critics of the Dp who might have celebrated the humiliation the Dp was smarting from should not see it as a victory rather should see the extent of dictatorship trickling from above that uncapped would ultimately choke its citizens freedom to death.
Surprisingly, Kiharu Mp claimed that as they stood there stranded, they could eavesdrop on the phone conversations of some officials where they were required to question who the Dp was, and that prior to his clearance, he was to bring both his birth certificate and a letter from the area chief.
Speaking with venom in their tongues, Dp Ruto supporters from Twitter and Facebook have quipped that by far, the Dp holds the record of being the most humiliated deputy president in the history of Kenya.
They have opined that despite such openly oppressive, pristine, archaic and medieval cannons of tyranny metted against him, on a position he fairly and squarely won, they expressed confidence that he will ultimately triumph citing that the inevitable truth was that no one can ever stop an idea whose time has come.
