Deputy President William Ruto’s Bottom-Up economic model has ignited controversial debates for the recent months in the realm of Kenyan politics.
The second in power has been served both criticism and embraced in equal decibels in regard to the new political conversation of Bottom-Up economic.
However, critics of the deputy president have termed Bottom-Up model as an illusion which is impractical in the current economy that is sailing at the seabed. They have accused Ruto for umpteenth times for allegedly using it to entice and dupe gullible electorates in his favour ahead of the 2022 polls.
Nyeri Town MP Ngunjiri Wambugu who is President Uhuru Kenyatta’s longtime Confidant, today changed the tune and embraced the Bottom-Up economic approach as a noble idea that will narrow the gap between the rich and the poor.
Speaking today Thursday during an exclusive Interview at Inooro TV, Nyeri Town lawmaker stated that the Bottom-Up economic model spearhead by DP Ruto should be absorbed into the system since it seeks to pump money into local and Small scale businesses.
“Let me say that I’m one of the few members in our camp who fully supports the bottom up economics. This is a great and noble idea which must be embraced by any sane politician who is seeking to lead this country”
In his unexpected attack to the Jubilee party Secretary General Raphael Tuju, Ngunjiri Wambugu revealed that it was shameful for any sane politician to implement jokes when talking about such a noble idea.
“That’s why I was very annoyed the other day when my secretary general brought jokes on such a serious matter,” added the lawmaker.
However, Ngunjiri Wambugu maintained his words that although the idea was noble, but it shouldn’t be championed and implemented by the Deputy president, citing that he has been in the government for more than 9 years but done absolutely nothing.
