Kenyans have been asked to brace for a Raila Odinga presidency come 2022.
Jubilee Vice Chairman David Murathe who has been at the fore front advocating for Mt. Kenya to throw its weight behind Odinga noted that President Kenyatta is keen to see that the ODM leader succeeds him.
Murathe was addressing a youth forum in Central Kenya on Wednesday where Odinga was in attendance.
“I have said and I say it again prepare for Raila presidency in 2022,” Murathe asserted.
The adamant Murathe said that they are working to ensure that with or with BBI, Raila will win the presidency after the next year’s elections.
“As we speak we want to ensure Jakom is president with or without the BBI,” he stated.
Opposition leader Raila who attended the meeting however requested the Region to support his presidency. He narrated to the audience how his father the late Jaramogi Oginga struggled for the release of Mzee Jomo Kenyatta.
He also reminded them of how he supported former President Mwai Kibaki.
This is not the first time Murathe who is a close ally to the President is speaking about Raila being installed as the fifth president.
Murathe’s remarks comes at a time when the political reconciliation between President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto is unlikely to happen.
Rubiconhas been passed and the battle line is clearly drawn.
The president who promised to support his deputy is unlikely to fulfil his promise.
