Ugandan citizen has sued Kenya over utterances made by Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Members of Parliament against NRM during a press conference against Deputy President William Ruto.
The Ugandan citizen has presented the complaint to the East African Court of Justice.
This happened after some MPs allied to ODM asked Ruto to explain the links between him and Uganda’s President Yoweri Museveni.
According to ODM Director of Elections Junet Muhammed, NRM does not have good records when it comes to human rights and democracy.
“The NRM record on human rights is not worth borrowing from. The NRM record on democracy is not worth borrowing… even worse, the NRM is a party of a lifetime presidency,” Junet read a joint statement by the MPs.
While adding, Junet said that NRM has kept Museveni in power for 30 years.
“NRM is a party that has kept someone in power for 30 years,” Suna East MP added.
They were making remarks after DP Ruto’s scheduled travel to Uganda was stopped on Monday at Wilson Airport.
In radio Interview, Ruto said Museveni is his friend.
“Is it right for Museveni to be friends with all these people and not with me? Am I not entitled to making friends?” he posed.
