With less than 12 months to the next general election, the political grounds have been heated as political betrayals, alliances and coalitions have ostensibly taken the centre part of the political bigwigs.
The Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader Musalia Mudavadi has remained adamant for his 2022 presidential bid despite striking an Alliance with the Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka, Ford Kenya Party boss Moses Wetangula and the Baringo Senator Gideon Moi.
It has also been noted that the One Kenya Alliance (OKA) principals have flanked with other interested parties days after exiting the famous 2017 NASA coalition in the efforts to cling to the country’s top seat in 2022.
However, the ANC party leader Moses Mudavadi is tied between the hurdle of balancing his State House journey and settling the looming internal wrangles in the ANC party ahead of the 2022 general election.
According to THE STAR, Mudavadi’s longtime confidant Lugari MP Ayub Savula who is the Deputy Party Leader of the ANC has leaked secret plans to ditch ANC and join Deputation President William Ruto’s UDA ahead of the next general election.
MP Ayub Savula announced his interest for the Kakamega Gubernatorial seat in 2022. At the same time, Kakamega senator Cleophas Malala who is Mudavadi’s “Uchumi Bora” crusader announced his bid for the same Kakamega Gubernatorial seat.
It has been established that Mudavadi promised to offer a direct ticket to Cleophas Malala leaving the Deputy Party Leader Ayub Savula on the edge of political fence. In his quest, Ayub Savula is expected to announce his official exit from ANC and join UDA will he face former Kakamega senator Boni Khalwale in the nomination race.
If Savula quits ANC party, then this will serve a huge blow to Mudavadi’s 2022 presidential dream to replace president Uhuru Kenyatta. Mudavadi commenced his campaigns in Mt Kenya region where camped in two Popular counties drumming for his bid.
