Hon Bagada Afandi Violet popularly known as mama fire a name she obtained because of her articulate nature and vibrancy in advocating and putting across her points as a unionist in the Giant Teacher’s umbrella KNUT and later as MCA in the Vihiga county Assembly.
Hon Bagada was born and raised in a humble little-known village of Vohovole in North Maragoli ward Sabatia Sub County. She went through normal schooling and later trained as a teacher where she took up her career as a teacher at Kidundu Primary school.
It was during her time of service that teachers found it within their wisdom to elect her as KNUT treasurer and later Women representative wherein she garnered the highest votes in the history of KNUT elections in Vihiga county.
Hon Bagada is currently a nominated MCA in Vihiga County assembly on Musalia Mudavadi’s ANC party ticket. Sources have it that she is the party’s preferred candidate to carry the women’s rep flag in 2022. This is because her touch with Mwananchi is unmatched and her candidature is people-driven.
Hon Bagada’s candidature is tipped to have sent shivers within the incumbent’s camp. Adagala who is the current women rep is a worried person today because she understands pretty well that Bagada greatly contributed to her election as she vigorously campaigned for her. However, residents have said that Adagala has not been able to deliver on her promises instead employed her close relatives in NGAAF office.
