The ODM party Leader Raila Odinga’s 2022 State House Journey has been dealt a huge blow after a section of Mt Kenya powerful Legislators have spelt doom on his presidency.
Speaking on Saturday, 21st August 2021, Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru who was flanked with her counterpart Kiambu Governor Nyoro, Murang’a Women Rep Sabina Chege and the former Nairobi County Assembly Speaker Beatrice Elachi set the Mt Kenya region political record straight following the ongoing party alliances and looming coalitions ahead of 2022 general election.
Waiguru stated that Mt Kenya region’s stand for the 2022 pre-election is yet to be made and the speculations tagging the ODM Party Leader Raila Odinga for allegedly being their preferred candidate was only hinged on untrue opinions.
“There has been speculation that we are leaning towards Raila Odinga, that is not true. In fact, what we are doing is consultations so whoever we think will articulate our issues is the one we will back,” Waiguru said.
She also revealed that the Mt Kenya region is open for all potential presidential candidates to chart their political course and devise plans on how the region will benefit in the next year’s government upon Uhuru’s exit.
Murang’a Women Rep Sabina Chege insisted that the influential leaders from Mt Kenya should unite and set a common political ground where they will channel their grievances to the next government as Mt Kenya one voice.
“As a region we must speak in one voice. this will be achieved when we converge since we must speak in one voice,” said Sabina remarked
Kiambu Governor Hon Nyoro informed that Leaders who will revive the region’s economic status in the efforts to improve the lives of the Central region locals are highly welcomed.
“Most of our people are suffering after being embargoed by CRB if you look at papers of those people listed majority are from the central region with some being auctioned. This must be addressed,” said Nyoro
