Amani National Congress leader Musalia Mudavadi who has always ruled out possibility of playing second fiddle has said he is likely to pick a running mate from Central region.
Mudavadi was speaking on Tuesday on Inooro FM where he submitted that politicians from the Mountain are politically and economically experienced.
“There is a lot of experience in the region. They are people who love doing business and can contribute a lot to the economy and the nation. So, I’m not saying no, there is a possibility,” Mudavadi stated.
While adding, the One Kenya Alliance principal stated that the region has produced three presidents.
“They have had three presidents who have led our country,” he added.
Speaking on Mulembe nation, the former vice president said Mulembe nation has shown patriotism.
“Mulembe people have shown patriotism since Kenya got independence. Every time we go for elections, we look at the candidates and that’s why Moi, Kibaki, Raila got votes from the region. I also got votes from them,” he said.
He said the Luhyas should not be faulted for making their choice.
“Let us not fault the people of Western Kenya for voting for a Kenyan of their choice,” he said.
ANC leader has been visiting some parts of Mt Kenya region including Nyeri and Murang’a.
He is expected to visit the region and sell his manifesto.
The 2013 presidential contender has been campaigning on the economic overhaul platform.
