After trekking for 350Km, the retired Kaimoso location chief Joseph Chebii has been blocked by police officers guarding State House from meeting President Uhuru Kenyatta.
According to Chebbi, he was directed by the officers to President’s office in Harambee House.
“I never had a chance to meet the president, over 200 police officers manning State House couldn’t allow me. I was directed to Harambee House where I dropped my pettion,” Chebii explained.
After a 14-day walk which commenced on Tuesday, August 24, the former administrator arrived in Nairobi on the evening of Monday, September 6.
While speaking during a past interview, the Ex Chief said that however the tiresome the 14- days trek is, he must complete it.
He said they did not conduct any ceremony for his journey because he have the blessings from his family and elders.
“The blessings from my family and the elders are enough,” he said.
He pleaded with the leaders to help raise the funds.
“My message to leaders is simple, please help, join hands and raise funds to complete stalled Kabarnet stadium it should be world class,” Chebii said.
He has asserted that he will not board nor ride.
“I will not board any vehicle or accept a ride from a good Samaritan. Despite my old age I will just be walking along the tarmac road until I reach my destination, Nairobi,” he vowed.
“it is so shameful seeing young youth going to train in Nakuru and Uasin Gishu counties when we can have our own facilities,” he stated.
He said that he won’t mind if someone offers him food and pay for lodging expenses along the way.
He expected a warm reception upon his arrival at the house on the hill to request for the help on behalf of his people.
He has been relying on honey and water to keep him moving.
