Kenyan businessman and politician Johnson Muthama has now warned media about diverting attention from the real questions.
Muthama who is Deputy President William Ruto’s ally now explains that it was Catholic bishops who initiated handshake drive and not the Deuty President.
“William Ruto is not the one who initiated the handshake drive. It was the Catholic bishops who rightfully felt the fallout was affecting Kenya’s prosperity. Let the media stop diverting attention from the real question, is Uhuru willing to cease from following a vindictive and making peace with Ruto?” Muthama posed.
The former Senator is speaking a day after the Deputy President on Thursday while speaking at his Karen residence said that he is unconditionally ready for truce this his boss.
“I’m ready. The clergy has said that it wants to unite me and the President. I’m ready without any condition,” Ruto said.
Ruto said he is ready unconditionally and at any moment.
“Without condition, any moment because we were both elected by Kenyans and they gave us mandate to run this government,” Ruto stated.
The second in command also warned the opposition that they can’t benefit from the government they didn’t install.
“You can’t benefit from a government you didn’t help create,” he warned.
This is coming at a time when the relationship between President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto seems to be worsening after the president asked his deputy to resign.
“The honorable thing is that if you are not happy with it, step aside and allow those want to move on to do so and take your agenda to the people,” President Uhuru said during an interview with Citizen TV.
“I would hope that people would have courage to do that instead of throwing stones in the same house that you live in,” Uhuru said.
