The Voice Magazine is set to award Kalonzo Musyoka following his nomination for playing a major role in peace efforts across the continent, and specifically the horn of Africa.
The former vice president will thus appear on the cover of the Netherlands based magazine.
While praising the Wiper leader for his illustrious peace efforts, the magazine referred to him an astute African Diplomat.
“In the making of what Africa is today from peace treaties in the DRC to formation of South Sudan and upholding its fragile democracy to Somali negotiation sat an Africa Diplomat,” the Voice Magazine wrote.
“Kalonzo is one who has tested the pains and joys of the trials Africa has gone through, yet rose from the ashes to prominence, serving his country, Kenya, Africa and the globe as a whole.”
“While serving in the government, he has had to spend more than a decade out of Kenya, holding talks, deliberations and negotiations to help keep peace in those countries. His Excellency Dr Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka understood how important keeping peace in countries surrounding his beloved Kenya was, not only for the prosperity and peace of Kenya but the whole of Africa,” the Magazine further said.
The wiper leader is currently the special envoy to the war-torn South Sudan and was instrumental in the birthing of Africa’s youngest nation 10 years ago.
The award will certainly raise the profile of Musyoka who has been instrumental in the formulation of the OKA coalition and is aiming to be its flag bearer for the high stakes 2022 presidential elections.
In an interview with the star recently, Musyoka said he looks forward to the award that will add another feather to his career as a peace envoy, a duty he began during Moi’s reign as president.
The award will coincide with the celebration to mark 10 years since South Sudan became Africa’s youngest nation.
