As the political bigwigs are currently structuring, revamping and sharpening their political axes to slash down next year’s general election victories, Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader Musalia Mudavadi is now racing against time in setting the party leadership factory into place.
On Thursday 23rd September 2021, Hon Musalia Mudavadi was flanked with a score of ANC party resourceful confidants in unveiling the newly nominated party Secretary General Simon Kamau Gikuru at Headquarter in Lavingtone.
The youthful Secretary General has been a longtime Mudavadi’s trustee who has also dedicated fully in serving, mobilizing and marketing the ANC party across the country. Hon Gikuru replaced the former SG Barack Muluka who resigned few months ago citing mistrusts and lack of confidence among the top party leadership team.
However, Mudavadi’s vocal defender Hon Cleophas Malala missed the crucial event of unveiling the SG raising controversial opinions among ANC allies. Speculations have indicated that the Kakamega lawmaker might be warming up to bid Musalia Mudavadi farewell since he was highly expecting to take over the party SG mantle.
Although he has remained mum over his absence in the unveiling meeting, but the ongoing push and pull in ANC confidently confirms his unannounced exit from the party.
Today, Friday, the former Deputy Prime Minister hosted the celebrated Kenyan sprinter Omanyala at his foundation in Nairobi. Kakamega senator Cleophas Malala who is perceived to be Mudavadi’s spokesperson was missing in action and this widened the gap of thoughts and opinions from ANC allied legislators.
This comes at the height of internal feuds and conflicts between Lugari MP Ayub Savula and Cleophas Malala following the back and forward moment over issuance of party ticket for Kakamega Governor’s position in 2022
This writer understands that Malala might bid Musalia Mudavadi farewell in an attempt to chart his political future through a different political party.
