COTU Secretary General Francis Atwoli has yet again stated that the Deputy President William Ruto won’t emerge victorious in the next coming elections.
The vocal trade unionist who was speaking Saturday in Bungoma County, came out to clarify about his previous utterance during an interview where he asserted that the second in command won’t be on the ballot.
He said that his assertions were misinterpreted.
“Some people said that when I hinted that Ruto won’t be on the ballot, I meant he would be dead. They misinterpreted my statement, I did not mean he would be dead. I will repeat it here for clarity, Ruto will not be the 5th President of Kenya. he will be there to see it pass. Kenyans will come out in their droves to cast their ballots and he will not win,” he clarified.
While speaking at a funeral service in Bungoma county the labour union leader said he will hold a rally in Bukhungu stadium on 31st of December to politically give the Luhyas the path to follow.
He said he is going to draft a list of leaders to be elected in the region, from Members of Parliament to Governor.
“On 31st of December I will hold an event in Bukhungu stadium and direct you people on the political direction to take. I will direct you on who to elect as governor in the respective counties of this region. I will also draw a list of parliamentary aspirants that you should elect,” Atwoli stated.
