Interior Principal Secretary Karanja Kibicho has lashed out at a section of leaders calling for his removal from office for allegedly engaging in politics ahead of the 2022 contest.
PS Kibicho told off the politicians, most of them presumably allied to Deputy President William Ruto, saying his democratic right as a Kenyan entitles him to speak and engage in politics.
An angry Kibicho, who spoke during the opening of newly built classrooms in Baricho Secondary School in Kirinyaga on Friday, went ahead to tell those seemingly offended by his politicking to hang themselves.
“I have heard we have been asked to resign because of talking politics, aren’t we Kenyans? Tuko stakeholders hapa na hatutoki hapa! Anyone who wants to swallow a razor blade it is time to buy one, early enough,” said the PS.
“I told them the other day that whoever feels hurt the most trees are here we shall buy them ropes to hang themselves. We shall speak politics undeterred. I have a responsibility to enlighten my mother on what she needs to know and in decision processing, why did she give birth to me if I can’t speak for her?”
The Interior PS adamantly vowed to continue engaging in politics while still carrying out his security mandate.
“Tutaendelea kuongea, leo, kesho, na ata kesho kutwa. Ile kazi tumepewa ya kuweka usalama tutaendelea kuweka,” he said.
“Anyone planning trouble should know we are here waiting for you. It’s been long since we used teargas. Every time somebody wants to speak its Kibicho, Matiang’i, Kibicho, Matiang’i. We can’t take these endless threats anymore wakuje watatupata!”
Politicians allied to DP Ruto have been pushing for the ouster of PS Kibicho, CS Matiang’i and Defense CS Eugene Wamalwa saying the trio has been engaging in succession politics.
His comments have not been taken lightly as William Ruto’s supporters took to social media to rebuke the powerful PS.
