The Nairobi gubernatorial race has tagged streams of endorsements from the national leaders, Council of Elders and regional leaders ahead of 9th August election.
The successful city business magnate Agnes Kagure has overwhelmingly received endorsement from the Mt Kenya Elders lead by the Patron Kinyua Mwangi, the opposition leader Raila Odinga’s vocal brother Oburu Odinga and the ODM heavyweight Siaya lawmaker James Orengo during the celebration ceremony for Kikuyu Council of Elders chairman Wachira Wa Kiago.
They held a consultative and fruitful engagements on the political discourse as well as initiating a common denominator for the Kikuyu fraternity ahead of next general election.
“I am honored to have joined other national leaders and the Kikuyu Elders’ leadership led by patron Kinyua Mwangi in celebrating chairman Wachira Wa Kiago, as well as charting a common path for the Kikuyu nation ahead of the 2022 elections” Kagure noted.
Kagure also affirmed that the Kikuyu Elders’ leadership re-assured that thge Azimio la Umoja forays will project its roots in Mt Kenya region and secure many votes for Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga.
She insisted that Nairobi locals will also follow the suit to embrace Raila and Uhuru’s 2018 handshake that brewed the Azimio la Umoja ahead of 2022 election.
“As our elders emphasized to senator James Orengo and EALA MP Oburu Odinga who represented Azimio captain Raila Odinga, our people are ready for Canaan, and so is Nairobi ready for better days, with the best leader who was formally handed to them” she added.
According to Kagure the Kikuyu Council of Elders, Oburu Odinga and Senator James Orengo showered blessings on her bid to take over the city’s leadership mantle that openly exuded the perceived endorsement.
“Thank you for the elderly blessing and the endorsement. Niko tayari, hii tushashinda” she noted.
